Deciduous tree. Slow growing. Low branching rounded canopy. Foliage is purple-red through spring and summer. Brilliant red to orange fall color. Large palmate leaf. Best as an understory tree. Deer resistant. Native to the forests of far Northern California. Moderate water needs once established.
